About Savingtags
Savingtags is an independent price-comparison site. We gather what retailers are charging for the same product, put those prices side by side on one page, and send you to whoever is actually selling. We are not a shop — we hold no stock, take no payment and ship nothing.
The Problem We Set Out to Fix
Buying anything online means opening the same product in six tabs. Each shop shows one price and calls it a good one. None of them will tell you what the others are asking, whether the “discount” is a real reduction or a permanent state of affairs, or whether the price was lower last week. The work of comparing is quietly handed to the buyer, and it is the one part nobody has time for.
A price only means something next to the other prices for the same thing, at the same moment. That is the whole idea behind this site, and everything on a product page exists to serve it.
How the Comparison Works
Retailers publish machine-readable product feeds, and we read them continuously through the day. Each item is matched to the product it belongs to — by barcode where one is published, by brand and title where one is not — so that offers for the same thing end up on the same page instead of scattered across near-duplicate listings.
What you get from that on a product page:
- Every offer we carry for that product, cheapest first, with the shop, the size and the shipping note attached to each.
- Price history, so a discount can be judged against what the product has actually cost rather than against a list price nobody pays.
- Stock status, because the cheapest listing is the one most likely to sell out first.
Prices change constantly, and there is always a lag between a shop changing one and our next read of their feed. The price that binds is the one the retailer shows you at checkout, and we say so on every page rather than pretending otherwise.
What We Do Not Claim
We compare the retailers we carry— not every retailer in existence. Promising a guaranteed lowest price would be an easier line to write and one we could not stand behind, so we do not write it. What we will stand behind is that the comparison is real, the numbers are the ones the retailers published, and nothing has been reordered because a shop paid for it.
We also do not sell, inspect or handle any product. Authenticity, condition, delivery, returns and customer service belong entirely to the shop you buy from.
How We Pay for It
Savingtags is free, and there is no advertising on it. When you follow a link and buy something, the retailer may pay us a commission out of their own margin. It costs you nothing, it does not change the price you are quoted, and it does not affect the order offers appear in — those are sorted by price. The full explanation, including what we will and will not accept payment for, is in our Affiliate Disclosure.
Get in Touch
A price that looks wrong, a product that is missing, a shop you think should not be listed, or anything else: contact@savingtags.com, or through our contact page. Reports of stale or incorrect prices are genuinely useful to us — they are how we find the feeds that have gone quiet.
